Spring Shred Event - Saturday, April 17, 2010

Fifty-six percent* of identity theft victims that could trace the source of the theft ultimately learned that thieves took something that was in their own possession. So the first rule of identity protection is: If you don’t need it, destroy it – responsibly. BBB is here to help.

Thank you to those who participated in BBB's fourth 'Secure Your ID' Day at Ridgewood Shopping Center on Satuday, October 17, 2009. Nearly 500 consumers took part in the free event and more than 19,000 pounds of documents were shredded. Our spring 'Secure Your ID' Day event will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Check back at a later date for more information.

BBB of Eastern NC thanks national partner the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) and local partners Coastal Federal Credit Union, ProShred Security, Cintas Document Management, Curtis Media (680WPTF and Y102.9), 620AM The Bull Sports Radio, and AM850 The Buzz Sports Radio.  Without these organizations, 'Secure Your ID' Day on Saturday, October 17 would not have been possible.
